The Parent Support Team Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for completing a range of administration tasks involved with delivering Parent Groups, referral management and group preparation tasks. You will work closely with the Band 5 Parent Programme Team manager to deliver Parent Programmes on a termly basis.
Job description
Work under the operational supervision of the Team Manager to provide evidence-based parent training programmes within Gloucestershire.
Assign Parent Programme Group Facilitators to deliver Parent training programmes on a termly basis. This will include providing appropriate consultation to all Programme Group Facilitators.
Undertake regular CPD learning activities.
Manage and overview the range of administration tasks involved with delivering Parenting Groups, referral management and group preparation tasks
Be responsible for ensuring that statutory and Trust responsibilities are met regarding escalating safeguarding and clinical risk concerns where required
Assist on the routine provision of high quality information management and performance data specific to the Parent Programme Team.
Job responsibilities
- Assist on managing a range of emotional, safeguarding and other practical difficulties that may occur within a group, liaising directly to the Team Manager where appropriate.
- Ensure that parent training programmes are provided to a range of minority and hard to reach communities
- Work flexibly to provide parent training programmes within a variety of community settings to meet service/referral need (i.e Children Centres, community venues).
- Ensure that safeguarding and other risks associated with delivering parenting interventions are routinely assessed and robust safeguarding/risk management plans are identified and reviewed in collaboration with the Trust policies and procedures as well as CYPS specific processes/pathways.
- Assist in the daily management of referrals to Parent Support Team.
- Be responsible for personal time management, working to CYPS standards and job plan agreed on a quarterly basis with the Team Manager.
- Work effectively with own team members as well as other professionals/workers within childrens services in Gloucestershire.Provide parent support advice and signposting to parents/carers as well as professionals/workers within childrens services in Gloucestershire
- When requested, assist in the information management and performance reports as requested by CYPS management.
- Maintain and submit information management data via RiO in a prompt and regular manner to meet Trust and CYPS expectations.
- Review and reflect on own practice and performance through actively seeking and making effective use of regular supervision, and appraisal in accordance with Trust policy
- Seek proactive involvement and collaborative working with parents/carers wherever possible during parent Support programmes.
- Practice in a culturally competent and non-discriminatory manner, respecting the variety of beliefs and cultural practices of individuals and groups as well as promoting the development of a health culture that promotes equality and values diversity.
- Contribute to delivery of the current CYPS Service Plan as requested as well as considering new/innovative ways of delivering parent training programmes within Gloucestershire

- Contribute to providing out of hours CYPS services if requested by CYPS Management.Change work base as requested by Service Director, CYPS
