Job overview
This is a part time permanent post for 22.5 hours a week.
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven member of staff to join the Turn Around for Children Service (TACS) as a health visitor. The post holder will have responsibility to assess a specialist group of clients from the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC). They will plan and implement health visitor services for each of our families based on their personal needs and as identified by the court process.
Job description
To provide and maintain evidence-based specialist care adapted to meet the needs of a defined community population to ensure that service users receive appropriate intervention, maintaining the standards set at a local and national level.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will within a multiagency team to identify early and engage to help at risk families delivering evidenced based episodes of care.
The post holder will have a shared responsibility for managing skill mix teams
The post holder will participate in practice development and public health initiatives
The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining own professional accountability through supervision and updating.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to a degree level (or equivalent)
- Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification, diploma or degree
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on part 1 or 2 (Registered Nurse of Midwife)- RHV Health Visitor HV Health Visitor
Length and /or nature of experience
Essential
- Experience of working across agencies
- Understanding and experience of the application of research in practice
- Evidence of child protection experience
- Experience in identifying and assessing health needs including community health needs
Professional/ managerial/ specialist knowledge
Essential
- Sound understanding of the NHS plan and other national policies and how it will impact on local services
- Knowledge of health visiting policies and procedures that underpin evidence based practice
Desirable
- Knowledge of Family Drug and Alcohol Court, framework and practices

- Accurate clinical record keeping following national and local guidelines
- The ability to undertake in-depth and evidence based reports to assist allied professionals within the FDAC
