Electronics Engineer – Sustaining

Description :

Based within the hardware team but providing cross functional practical engineering support for products after release to production and throughout the product lifecycle. Working with operations and manufacturing to ensure the continued production of the range of Trio products, by identifying and implementing product and process improvements.

The team is based in our head office in Tewkesbury, and works with colleagues overseas to develop products for our international customer base.

Applicants Requirements :

• Electronics / Electrical Engineering degree or HND.
• 2+ years relevant experience.

Specific Job Responsibilities :

• Liaising with the development team during the design process for new products.
• Verify manufacturing data for hand over to production.
• Supporting product designs in manufacture.
• Providing design support to applications team.
• Implement design changes when required for product or process improvement.
• Document design changes as required by ISO9001 Quality System.
• Verify design changes and record test results.
• Maintenance and improvement of production tests.
• Identify and implement cost reductions through product or process changes.
• Identify and implement quality improvements through product or process changes.

Competencies :

• Strong practical electronics skills.
• Fault finding
• Familiarity with microcontroller / microprocessor circuits
• Product testing, including regulatory tests, e.g. EMC
• Basic CAD skills
• Basic software skills
• Detailed and methodical approach to work
• Personable and effective communication in English

Travel Requirements :

• Very occasional travel in the UK and abroad may be required
• Could involve overnight stays or travel at weekend
